What Is Speech Therapy?

Speech Therapy helps children improve their ability to understand and use language through speaking, listening, social interaction, and cognitive communication skills. Some children work on producing accurate speech sounds, while others focus on building vocabulary, improving sentence structure, or developing confidence in functional conversations.

Who Can Benefit from Speech Therapy?

Your child may benefit from speech therapy if they:

  • Exhibit difficulty with specific speech sounds or impacting overall speech intelligibility
  • Struggle with vocabulary, forming sentences, or understanding directions
  • Experience challenges in conversation or social interaction
  • Have fluency concerns such as stuttering or cluttering
  • Show frustration or anxiety during communication
  • Concerns of overall language delay for their age

Our Approach

At Matrix, we believe therapy should be personalized, functional, and family-centered. Our speech-language pathologists collaborate closely with families and our ABA/behavioral specialists to ensure cohesive care.

  • Evidence-based practices: Each intervention is research-driven
  • Play-based sessions: Children stay engaged and motivated through child led activities
  • Family coaching: Caregivers receive strategies to support carryover and progress within the home
  • Integrated care: Coordination with ABA and behavioral specialists maximizes outcomes
